The HR Officer is responsible for managing day-to-day human resource functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, HR administration, and compliance with Ethiopian labor laws. The role supports the development of a structured, efficient, and motivated workforce aligned with the company’s operational and growth objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Recruitment & Staffing

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment processes for retail, technical, sales, and support roles

  • Coordinate job postings, screening, interviews, and onboarding

  • Maintain updated job descriptions and staffing plans

HR Administration

  • Maintain accurate employee records, contracts, and personnel files

  • Manage attendance, leave, and basic payroll coordination with finance

  • Prepare HR letters, contracts, and employment documentation

Performance Management & Employee Relations

  • Support implementation of performance appraisal systems

  • Address employee relations issues in a fair and professional manner

  • Support disciplinary and grievance management processes

  • Promote a positive and productive workplace culture

Policy Development & Compliance

  • Develop, update, and implement HR policies and procedures

  • Ensure compliance with Ethiopian labor laws and company regulations

  • Advise management on HR-related legal and compliance matters

  • Support development of internal guidelines and HR manuals

Reporting & Coordination

  • Prepare regular HR reports on staffing, turnover, and performance

  • Support workforce planning and organizational development initiatives

  • Coordinate with management on HR planning and improvement initiatives

Job Requirement:

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Management, or a related field

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant HR experience

  • Strong knowledge of Ethiopian labor laws and HR best practices

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Gmail and ERP)

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • High level of confidentiality and professionalism

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

  • Experience working in retail, distribution, or technology companies

  • Experience supporting multi-location operations
