We are looking for a detail-oriented, and proactive Junior Accountant to oversee financial operations, ensure accuracy in reporting, and support financial decision-making. The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing all finance and accounting activities of the AK Vision Retail Store. The role ensures accurate financial records, strong internal controls, compliance with Ethiopian tax and financial regulations, and effective financial support to retail operations, inventory management, and decision-making.

Duties and Responsibilities:

AK Vision Showroom Finances

  • Facilitate payment as a cashier at our retail showrooms

  • Manage daily financial transactions and ensure payments follow standards

  • Encode daily financial information using ERP

  • Implement and monitor internal financial controls for retail operations

  • Identify process gaps and recommend improvements for efficiency and risk reduction

  • Ensure compliance with Ethiopian tax laws and regulations

  • Prepare and submit VAT, withholding tax, payroll tax, and other statutory filings

  • Coordinate audits and respond to tax authority inquiries

  • Maintain proper financial documentation and records

  • Oversee inventory valuation, stock movements, and reconciliation with store records

  • Coordinate with store and warehouse teams to ensure accurate stock reporting

  • Monitor cost of goods sold and gross margins

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports

  • Monitor cash flow and support budgeting and forecasting

Reporting & Management Support

  • Provide financial insights to management to support business decisions

  • Prepare ad hoc financial analysis as required

  • Support budgeting, pricing, and cost control initiatives

Job Requirement:

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

  • Experience: Minimum of [X] years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in retail

  • Strong knowledge of Ethiopian accounting standards and tax regulations

  • Strong analytical and financial reporting skills

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Strong integrity and professionalism

  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Gmail and ERP)

  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
