Job Description

An Accountant helps businesses make critical financial decisions by collecting, tracking, and correcting the company’s finances. They are responsible for financial audits, reconciling bank statements, and ensuring financial records are accurate throughout the year.

Location: Minaye Building, Torhailoch (Old Airport), in front of Sami Café, 1st floor, Human Resource Office.

Deadline: February 23, 2024

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Document financial transactions, including stock transfers in & store transfers out.

  • Post all head office petty cash payments.

  • Carry out day-to-day financial activities efficiently.

  • Assist in improving and implementing up-to-date financial accounting systems.

  • Synthesize financial data for decision-making.

  • Handle timely and proper postings to the general ledger and sub-ledgers.

  • Classify and file financial and supporting documents securely.

  • Prepare and record stock, revenue, and expense entries.

  • Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts, reconciling transactions.

  • Prepare monthly tax summaries for branches, agents, and cash & carry.

  • Reconcile stock bin cards and stock & cash with head office monthly.

  • Reconcile daily sales with daily deposits & main cash.

  • Submit daily reports for sales, collections, bank deposits, and stock reconciliations.

  • Check and reconcile selling prices.

  • Work closely with branch managers, storekeepers, and cashiers.

  • Ensure branches submit financial documents promptly.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficiency in Peachtree Accounting

  • Strong analytical & reporting skills

  • Ability to work under pressure and in a team

  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions

  • Capacity to make common-sense decisions in routine and critical situations

Job Requirements:

  • BA Degree in Accounting or in a related field of study

Experience:

  • 2 years in merchandise business
