Job Description

The CPiE and GBV Assistant will support the implementation, coordination, and monitoring of emergency child protection and GBV interventions, including case management in refugee and host community settings. the role is vital in delivering safe, rights-based services for children, adolescents, and survivors aligned with donor requirements and inter-agency standards. working closely with volunteer social workers, community structures, and partner organizations, the CPiE and GBV Assistant will serve as PlE representative at the grassroots level, maintaining direct and frequent engagement with the beneficiary community.

Safeguarding Children and Program Participants (Safeguarding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI) 

  • Understands and puts into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), ensuring that concerns are reported and managed per the appropriate procedures.

  • Ensures that all staff in the unit/function/department are properly inducted on and understand their role in upholding Plan International’s safeguarding and GEI policies;

  • Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Program Participant and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in day-to-day work.

  • Ensures that Plan Ethiopia contributes to Plan International’s global efforts to ensure safeguarding and GEI, including making sure that relevant reporting and data are submitted.

Job Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Gender Studies, Development Studies, or related fields.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in humanitarian CPiE and/or GBV programming.

  • Basic knowledge of CPiE and GBV minimum standards, case management, and survivor-cantered approaches.

  • Ability to work in emergency and high-pressure environments.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Good written, verbal communication skills in English and local language.
