Job Description

IHI is looking for a Senior Project Manager for Gates Foundation funded- Improving Neonatal Survival project. 

Duty Station: Addis Ababa, with travel to project sites

Employment type: Full time

The Senior Project Manager (SPM) under the supervision of the Country Director will provide grant, budget, and project management funtion of the Ethiopia office. The SPM will also closely work with other project team members from design refinement to execution and monitoring & evaluation including engagement in clinical mentorship and QI coaching. 

Job Requirements

Position Qualification Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Willingness to commit to IHI’s mission and values.

  • MPH required, MD preferred. 

  • Ten or more years of experience which at least the five years should be in leadership role and working in the Ethiopian health system required.

  • Experience as a Project Manager/ Senior Project Manager specifically a healthcare project

  • Experience using NetSuite as a budget management and resourcing tool

  • Proven experience in Grant Writing, Funder and other stakeholders report

  • Deep knowledge of Ethiopian health care system required.

  • Strong understanding of data analysis methods required.

  • Strong written and oral communication capability is preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams preferred.

  • Ability to travel within Ethiopia up to 50% of the time required.

  • Ability to work effectively alone and as part of a team. 

  • Superior critical thinking, initiative, creativity, and problem-solving skills.

  • Drive to effectively develop self, others, and teams.

  • Fluency in written and oral English and Amharic required.

  • Certification within a recognized project management framework
