Welder

1. Position Title: Welder (MIG/TIG/ARC)

2. Department: Production / Fabrication

3. Reports To: Welding Supervisor / Production Supervisor

4. Duty Station: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (Pardus Engineering Workshop/Factory)

To perform high-quality welding, fabrication, and finishing of metal parts in accordance with drawings, welding standards, and safety requirements.

6. Key Duties and Responsibilities

A. Welding & Fabrication

• Perform MIG, TIG, or ARC welding based on project requirements.

• Prepare materials for welding (cutting, grinding, beveling, fitting).

• Weld components in horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.

• Weld and assemble metal structures and machine parts.

B. Quality Control & Inspection

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols.

• Inspect weld quality: alignment, penetration, strength, and appearance.

• Conduct grinding, finishing, and rework when needed.

C. Equipment & Maintenance

• Maintain welding machines, cables, torches, and consumables.

• Report machine malfunctions and replace consumables safely.

• Keep tools and workspace in good condition.

D. Safety & Compliance

• Follow all welding safety protocols and PPE requirements.

• Handle hot metals, electrodes, and gas cylinders safely.

• Maintain a clean, hazard-free welding area.

E. Production Support

• Work closely with fabricators and machinists.

• Assist in material handling and project coordination.

• Record daily work, materials used, and welding activities.

Job Requirements

1. Required Qualifications & Experience

• TVET Level II or above in Welding, Metalwork, Fabrication, or related fields.

• 1–3 years of welding experience in a fabrication or manufacturing company.

2. Required Skills & Competencies

• Ability to read welding symbols and engineering drawings.

• Strong MIG/TIG/ARC welding skills.

• Knowledge of metal properties and welding techniques.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

• Strong safety awareness.

3. Personal Attributes

• Reliable, disciplined, and safety-conscious.

• Team player with a positive attitude.

• Strong work ethic and responsibility.

4. Working Conditions

• Workshop environment with heat, sparks, noise, and fumes.
