Job Description

The Contract Engineer at OVID Real Estate will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing contracts within the Engineering sector. Ovid Real Estate based in an office in Addis Ababa, focuses on ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and optimizing project outcomes. The Contract Engineer will collaborate with various teams to facilitate effective communication and documentation of contract details, thereby supporting the overall goals of the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze contracts to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Prepare and negotiate contract terms and conditions with clients and stakeholders.

  • Monitor project progress and contract performance to identify areas for improvement.

  • Coordinate with project managers to align contract deliverables with project timelines.

  • Maintain accurate records of contracts and related documentation.

  • Facilitate communication between internal teams and external partners regarding contract matters.

  • Conduct risk assessments related to contract obligations and propose mitigation strategies.

  • Assist in the resolution of contract disputes or claims through effective negotiation.

  • Provide training and guidance to team members on contract management best practices.

  • Stay updated on industry trends and changes in regulations that may impact contracts.

Educational Background

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil  Engineering (preferably),Or Cotom Engineering  from a recognized institution.

Experience

  • Minimum 6-7 years of experience 

  • Claim Engineer

  • Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail in contract review and analysis.

  • Effectively communicate complex contract terms to various stakeholders.

  • Analyze data and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.

  • Organize and manage multiple contracts and projects simultaneously.

  • Develop clear and concise reports on contract performance and issues.

  • Utilize problem-solving skills to address contract-related challenges.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance contract management processes.

  • Adapt to changing priorities and manage time effectively.

  • Ensure confidentiality and integrity of contract information.

  • Exhibit strong negotiation skills to achieve favorable contract terms.

Desired Skills:

  • Possess knowledge of construction and engineering industry standards.

  • Familiarity with legal terminology related to contracts.

  • Ability to interpret technical documents and specifications.

  • Experience with contract management software and tools.
