Job Description

 Under the supervision of the Livelihood Activity Manager, he/she will support all livelihoods activities, including beneficiary targeting and mobilization, all trainings supervision and follow up (vocational training, micro-enterprise management and financial education), and distribution of cash transfers to support IGAs set up. He/she will also participate in monitoring the implemented activities and assessing new needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Help in setting up criteria for selecting beneficiaries.

  • Identification of target groups through the communities (women, vulnerable…) 

  • Collect accurate data at the community level.

  • Assist in conducting baseline survey 

  • Report any emerging needs to the Program manager and his/her assistant 

  • Support technical team to settle committees or any other community association 

Communication / representation 

  • Mobilize the targeted communities and create awareness about the program activities 

  • Listen to complains from the different groups of the communities 

  • Mitigate problem between communities when it arises 

  • Analyze actions to be done to avoid any security accident at community level 

  • Give support for all Solidarités International activities for community mobilization and communication with local authorities, site and village leaders 

Implementation and operational monitoring 

  • Understand the project, its objectives and results and each tool linked to it. 

  • Organize and lead meetings and awareness sessions with project participants. 

  • Actively participate in the organization of training activities (vocational training, micro-enterprise management and financial education), 

  • Work together with training facilitators in coaching and monitoring beneficiaries’ attendance and progress 

  • Actively participate in monitoring project results 

  • Support in the organization and monitoring of the use of cash transfers for beneficiary households (PDM, meetings with project participants) 

  • Support in the organization and follow up of child safe place service 

  • Support the activity manager in liaising with key stakeholders to ensure project integration and     sustainability 

Reporting

  • Share with the Activity Manager every information about security, activities, logistics or administrative issues occurred at field level 

  • Participate in the preparation of the regular program reports

Job Requirements

Profile desired 

Studies:

  • Bachelor in relevant studies (social sciences, economics, development studies).

Experience: 

  • Previous experience in local and/or (preferred) international NGOs

  • At least 1 year working in a similar position

  • Experience working with most vulnerable groups

  • Experience in training / coaching / mentoring on business skills and IGA set up

Languages: 

  • A high level of fluency in Tigrinya is a mandatory requirement for this role,

  • English proficiency is appreciated.
