Supervises: Mechanics, Electrician and welders (technical team) 

Job Summary: Leads the technical team. Plans and supervises all mechanical and electrical maintenance activities to minimize down time and ensure plant reliable, all over equipment Effectives and Increase the capacity utilization rate of the factory.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepares preventive maintenance program for all crushers, mills and burners.

• Investigates complex breakdown problems and provides technical solutions.

• Manages spare parts inventory; submits requests for local/foreign procurement.

• Ensures strict adherence to environmental safety and health (OSH) requirements.

• Monitors that equipment sent to the workshop is properly inspected and repaired by qualified personnel.

• Organizes annual training for subordinate personnel.

• Ensures that quality and timeliness of maintenance work are measured.

• Plans; schedules; organizes; directs; evaluates; reports on performance of overall electrical and mechanical works.

• Plans annual electrical and mechanical spare parts and lubricants consumption plan for the factory.

• In the event of a mechanical or electrical failure beyond its control, it provides a recommendation for external repair, stating the type and extent of the failure. It monitors the work after the repair is outsourced and ensures that the handover is properly inspected and completed.

• The performance of employees is completed in a timely manner, and those with skill problems are identified and trained and notified to the relevant person to improve.

• Generates and strengthens new ideas based on research related to new thinking and practices; implements them when approved; provides organized support for gaps in the implementation of the plan by evaluating them.

• Monitors and controls the cleanliness of production machinery and parts and their suitability for the work.

• Monitors whether the maintenance process is being carried out according to the correct procedure; monitors whether employees are wearing work clothes and protective equipment properly.

• Provides a timely report on the performance of the work.

• Performs other tasks assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Job Requirements

• Education: BSc Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

• Experience: 6+ years of hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing plant (Cement/Building materials manufacturing preferred).

• Skills: Leadership, AutoCAD basics, problem-solving, fluency in Amharic and English (for manuals).
