About the School:

Eldra Academy is a reputable private elementary school providing holistic education for students from Kindergarten to Grade 8. The school is committed to nurturing academic excellence, strong character, creativity, and lifelong learning skills. To strengthen our leadership team and ensure sustainable growth, we are looking for an experienced and visionary Head of School who will be responsible for the overall academic, financial, human resource, and resource management of the institution.

The Senior Head of School will serve as the overall leader and chief administrator of the school. This position is directly accountable to the School Board/Owner and ensures effective coordination and supervision of all school operations — including academic excellence, finance, human resource development, and physical resource management.The successful candidate will lead a team of academic and administrative staff to achieve the school’s mission, vision, and strategic objectives.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

A. Academic Leadership

1. Provide strong instructional leadership and uphold academic excellence.

2. Supervise curriculum implementation across KG–Grade 8.

3. Ensure continuous improvement in teaching methods and student assessment.

4. Oversee teacher professional development and classroom supervision.

5. Promote student discipline, safety, and overall wellbeing.

B. Financial Management

6. Prepare and manage the annual school budget in coordination with the Finance Head.

7. Ensure transparent and accountable use of financial resources.

8. Monitor fee collection, payroll, procurement, and expenditure control.

9. Support income-generating and cost-efficiency strategies.

C. Human Resource Management

10. Oversee recruitment, orientation, and performance evaluation of all staff.

11. Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performing work culture.

12. Ensure staff welfare, discipline, and professional ethics.

13. Recommend training and development programs for teachers and support staff.

D. Resource and Administrative Management

14. Supervise maintenance of buildings, facilities, and school assets.

15. Oversee procurement, inventory, and logistics management.

16. Coordinate with parents, the community, and government education offices.

17. Ensure compliance with Ministry of Education regulations and policies.

18. Prepare and submit periodic reports to the School Board/Owner.

E. Strategic Leadership 19. Lead the school’s strategic planning and quality assurance programs.

20. Promote innovation, ICT integration, and continuous school improvement.

21. Represent the school in external networks, associations, and stakeholder meetings.

Job Requirements

Qualification and Experience Requirements

Education: Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Educational Leadership, School Administration, Management, or related field. Experience: Minimum of 10 or 12 years of experience in educational leadership, with at least 4 years as a Principal, Vice Principal, or Senior Administrator in a recognized school.

Skills:

Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to manage academic and administrative teams.
Financial literacy and HR management experience.
Good ICT and report-writing skills.
Fluent in English and Amharic.
