The Procurement Officer will support procurement activities across all business units, working within a centralized procurement system.

The Procurement Officer is responsible for planning, sourcing, purchasing, and follow-up of goods, works, and services required by Petal Trading PLC. The role ensures value for money, compliance, timely delivery, and quality assurance in line with company policies and Ethiopian regulatory requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Procurement Planning

• Prepare and implement annual and periodic procurement plans aligned with approved budgets

• Consolidate procurement needs from different departments and business units

Sourcing & Purchasing

• Identify, evaluate, and select qualified suppliers and contractors

• Obtain quotations, conduct price and technical comparisons, and prepare purchase orders

• Ensure timely procurement of goods and services in accordance with specifications

Supplier & Contract Management

• Follow up on supplier performance, delivery schedules, and contract obligations

• Maintain updated supplier databases and procurement records

• Support negotiations and contract administration activities

Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure procurement activities comply with company procedures and Ethiopian laws

• Maintain complete and auditable procurement documentation

Coordination & Reporting

• Coordinate closely with finance, warehouse, logistics, and user departments

• Prepare regular procurement status and performance reports

• Support internal and external audits

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications
Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement & Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Management, Economics, Engineering, or related field

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain functions

Required Competencies & Skills

• Strong knowledge of procurement processes and documentation

• Good negotiation and supplier evaluation skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and reporting tools

• Strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills

• High level of integrity, accountability, and confidentiality

Preferred Attributes

• Experience in construction, manufacturing, or import-based procurement

• Familiarity with customs, import documentation, or supplier contracts

• Ability to manage multiple procurement requests under deadlines
