Job Description

The Logistics Officer is expected to add value to the business by ensuring smooth, reliable, and cost-effective logistics operations. The role involves controlling, managing, and coordinating company drivers and third-party transporters to ensure timely and accurate deliveries. The Logistics Officer works closely with the factory warehouse team to plan, prioritize, and execute dispatch activities, while also engaging with sales executives and CSRs to align delivery schedules with customer and business requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Daily follow-up of trucks through FMS or phone call while delivering product/crate to/from the agent warehouse.

  •  Make sure all transporters are getting payments every 7days after document submission.

  • Amend and communicate with the sales team if there is a change of estimated days of arrival because of a truck breakdown, accident or any other related reasons.

  • Daily engage and influence transporter representatives to increase/ reduce the number of fleets in the operation based on the seasonality impact

  • Engage and influence the sales crew on the ground; CSRs to fast – track the loading and offloading of trucks in the agents’ warehouse.

  • Ensure Habesha trucks’ service time is maintained to avoid and reduce truck downtime.

  • Engage and influence the brewery warehouse team to fast-track the loading and offloading of trucks in the brewery.

  • Prepare and report weekly truck availability and cost of delay at the agent warehouse for the S&OP meeting.

  • Check, verify and complete the documents against actual transactions on SAP and submit to finance.

  • Prepare monthly order arrival time, planning accuracy and downtime time report

  • Follow and ensure own trucks are consuming adequate liters of fuel per destination.

  • Engage and influence the order processing team to bring the order on time to utilize the available trucks.

  • Ensure the perdiem and any other operational costs are reimbursed to the drivers

Job Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in FMCG

Language

  • Amharic, English and other local languages (Preferred)
