AKUFADA Micro finance institution S.C is a private Micro finance institution which is established in October 12, 2015 E.C to provide financial service for low- and medium-income groups. Hence, AKUFADA Micro finance institution wants to recruit employees on the following vacant posts.

  • Position: Marketing and communication director 

  • Workplace: Head office 

  • Job Grade: 14

The position should Responsible for the planning, management, and execution of all marketing initiatives and the day-to-day marketing functions of the financial institution. Develops and implements a marketing program that is in alignment with the overall Akufada MFI's strategic objectives. To plan, develop, and implement effective marketing and communication strategies that strengthen the organization’s brand, promote products and services, enhance public image, and support business growth.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervises any marketing staff

  • Collaborates with third party marketing firm (as needed) with the development of advertising strategies and campaigns to acquire, retain, and expand relationships with customers and identified target segments.

  • Collaborates with Executive Team to develop targeted marketing programs that assist in the achievement of branch and officer goals.

  • Executes targeted marketing campaigns, including development and coordination of direct mail, advertising (traditional and digital), branch signage, and website content using tracks and reports results.

  • Schedules local media buys with vendors, negotiating rates and/or contracts. 

  • Evaluates advertising proposals presented by vendors.

  • Oversees and reviews social media strategies and assures compliance with MFI’s social media Policy and Procedures.

  • Assures all forms of advertising meet compliance requirements and keeps marketing records for MFI audits and exams as required.

  • Assesses and processes Contribution requests with Officers in keeping with the Akufada MFI’s guiding principles and strategic objectives. 

  • Assists with production of the Akufada’s annual report and other shareholder communication pieces.

  • Assists in the assessment and development of new products and services that meet customer needs.

  • Assures the Akufada’s website content is updated with relevant resources and information to help customers with their financial needs.

  • Coordinates internal and external research projects.

  • Manages the marketing development, advertising, and contributions budgets.

  • Manages the email marketing system by uploading lists, creating content, and scheduling and coordinating automation needs.

  • Reviews key website, social media, & digital marketing analytics. Reports and recommends strategies that support key MFI initiatives and goals.

  • Plans and organizes sponsored events.

  • Identifies community events and opportunities that maximize the MFI’s visibility and aligns with its strategic objectives.

  • Monitors customer satisfaction and ongoing service quality.

  • Coordinates customer events, open houses, and other Public Relation events.

  • Reviews Akufada’s press releases.

  • Monitors and coordinates staff participation in local events.

  • Coordinates the purchase of promotional items with outside vendors.

  • Assists with the coordination of employee meetings and development of creative promotional materials

  • Support branch signage needs.

  • Manage brand identity and ensure consistency across all communication channels.

  • Conduct market research to understand customer needs, market trends, and competitor activities.

  • Plan and execute product and service promotion campaigns.

  2. Communication & Public Relations

  • Manage internal and external communications to ensure clear, accurate, and timely messaging.

  • Prepare press releases, speeches, newsletters, brochures, and promotional materials.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with media, partners, and stakeholders.

  • Handle public relations issues and protect organizational reputation.

  3. Digital Marketing & Media Management

  • Oversee social media platforms, website content and digital campaigns.

  • Monitor and analyze digital marketing performance and engagement.

  • Ensure effective use of online channels for brand visibility and customer engagement.

  4. Stakeholder & Customer Engagement

  • Support customer education and awareness programs.

  • Coordinate promotional events, roadshows, and community outreach activities.

  • Work closely with operations, sales, and branch teams to align marketing initiatives.

  5. Planning, Budgeting & Reporting

  • Prepare and manage the marketing and communication budget.

  • Measure and report on the effectiveness of marketing activities.

  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory guidelines.

Job Requirements

  • Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in marketing or management, communications or Business administration, Economics or related with four 4 or six (6) years marketing & business development experience of which two (2) or three (3) years in the managerial positions.
