New Millennium Women Empowerment Organization (NMWEO) is an indigenous, non-governmental, non-profit humanitarian organization established in 2007 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The organization was previously registered at the Ministry of Justice under registration number 3018 and later registered and licensed by the Federal Charities and Societies Agency as an Ethiopian resident’s charity by the Charities and Societal Proclamation No. 621/2009 by registration No. 0539. NMWEO has been re-registered according to the Civil Society Organizations Proclamation No.113/2019 with registration No. 0539.

NMWEO, as a consortium partner in a program led by SNV and in collaboration with Mastercard Foundation, will be implementing a program focused on enabling 88,000 Rural young women (RYW) to access dignified and fulfilling jobs in the Tigray region. The program will target high-potential agricultural value chains (e.g., horticulture, poultry, dairy), using a market systems development approach. So NMWEO needs to recruit qualified and competent candidates for the following job opportunities.

The woreda facilitator is the frontline implementer of the RAYEE project, responsible for the direct coordination and facilitation of project activities at the woreda level. Specifically, the facilitator will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of project interventions as per the approved work plan, including the provision of inclusive, participatory skill training, technical support, and coaching, and linkage to market and financial services for rural young women and youth with disability in agribusiness-related entrepreneurship and employment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Activity Implementation and Facilitation

  • Coordinate and facilitate the RAYEE II project activities day-to-day in the assigned woreda, based on the DIP.

  • Organize and facilitate participatory, skills-based training, technical support, and continuous coaching for the project participants.

  • Facilitate linkages between project participants and key actors based on the woreda, including input/output markets, financial service providers, and digital platforms.

Community Mobilization and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Mobilize and register targeted communities and participants, ensuring inclusive participation of the RYW and YWD on the admission criteria .

  • Foster and maintain partnerships at the level of working relations with the woreda's governmental offices, kebele administrations, youth associations, and private sector actors.

  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with the FTCs, OSSCs, and other associated inclusive services such as childcare centers.

  • Represent the project at relevant woreda-level meetings and forums.

Planning, Reporting, and Data Collection

  • Develop weekly and monthly activity plans in alignment with the project plan.

  • Collect data from the field and maintain records regarding beneficiaries, project activities, and results.

  • Prepare and submit activity reports in a timely and accurate manner to the immediate supervisor.

Monitoring and Support

  • Monitoring participant and enterprise progress, giving ongoing business development support.

  • Identify challenges faced by participants and report them to the supervisor with proposed solutions.

  • Ensure all activities are implemented in a manner that strictly adheres to the organization's safeguarding policy and GESI principles.

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture (Livestock Production/Horticulture), Agri-economics, Agribusiness Management, Business Management, Agricultural Extension/Rural Development, or a related field.

  • A minimum of 4 years of professional experience relevant to the program in areas including but not limited to: extension services, community mobilization, livelihood/food security promotion, agribusiness; or youth enterprise development.

  • Assets would be exposure to delivering inclusive training and providing coaching support/working with ATVET.

  • Strong understanding of the socio-economic context of rural woredas.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills.

  • Riding a motorcycle with a valid driving license is strong advantage.

  • Fluency in Tigrigna is mandatory and working knowledge of English is required.

  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work effectively with minimal supervision in a challenging environment.

  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to achieving project goals and delivering tangible results for beneficiaries. 

  • Strong organizational skills, including proven ability to meet deadlines and prepare reports in a clear, accurate, and timely manner. 

  • Demonstrates a commitment to continuous learning and adapting approaches based on community feedback.

  • Willingness to reside and work in the assigned woreda.
