The F&B Controller is a senior role responsible for driving cost efficiency, safeguarding assets, and providing strategic financial insights for Savor Addis’ food and beverage operations. The position combines in-depth financial analysis with operational oversight to ensure profitability, cost transparency, and sustainable growth. Reporting to the Finance Manager and General Manager, the F&B Controller will act as a key business partner to both Finance and Operations, providing accurate reporting, actionable insights, and process improvements to optimize margins and reduce wastage.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain cost control systems that align with the company’s strategic objectives.
Conduct detailed variance analysis (actual vs. budget/forecast) and recommend corrective actions.
Monitor daily food and beverage costs across outlets and identify areas of leakage or inefficiency.
Lead periodic and surprise audits of F&B inventory, ensuring transparency and compliance.
Enforce robust internal controls for receiving, storing, and issuing F&B supplies.
Prepare comprehensive weekly and monthly cost reports with clear insights for management.
Collaborate with Procurement, Culinary, and Service teams to balance cost efficiency with quality.
Provide financial oversight for events, promotions, and special projects.
Influence menu engineering, pricing strategies, and supplier negotiations through financial insights.
Job Requirements
Requirements*
Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management, or related field (master’s degree).
5–7 years of progressive experience in F&B cost control, hospitality finance, or financial analysis, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Prior experience in fine dining, luxury hotels, or upscale hospitality environments.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial modeling skills.
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems, and hospitality management software.
High integrity, strategic thinking, and strong business acumen.
Languages: Fluent in Amharic and English (additional languages are an advantage).
