Ohio State Global One Health, LLC (Ohio State GOH, LLC) is an affiliated entity of The Ohio State University working on a range of Global Health Security related projects targeting rapid response to public health emergencies through building laboratory capacity, surveillance capacity, and one health workforce capacity strengthening through applied education, training, and research throughout Ethiopia. Ohio State Global One Health works with the Federal Ministry of Health, Ethiopian Public Health Institute, Regional Health Bureaus, Universities and other research institutions. 

Position: Knowledge Management and Communication Specialist

Duration: One year with a possibility of renewal based on performance and availability of funding.

Line of responsibility - The Knowledge Management and Communication (KMC) Specialist will report directly to the Regional Strategic Director 

Place of Work – Addis Ababa, with a possibility of travel to regions.

About the Role:

Ohio State Global One Health, LLC is seeking a dynamic Knowledge Management and Communication (KMC) Specialist to lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive knowledge management system. This role will ensure effective capture, management, sharing, and dissemination of both tacit and explicit knowledge across the organization and with key partners.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage communication tools in both digital and print formats.

• Document key achievements, lessons learned, and challenges across all projects.

• Foster a culture of internal knowledge sharing and collaboration.

• Communicate research findings and project successes to diverse audiences.

• Organize learning sessions for staff and external stakeholders, particularly on global health security topics.

• Synthesize knowledge on global health security and other relevant subjects for internal and external education.

• Promote Global One Health initiatives through various media platforms and channels.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Knowledge Management, Communication, Journalism, Public Health, Global Health, or related field.

• Strong understanding of knowledge management principles, tools, and technologies.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences.

• Proficiency in digital communication platforms, content management systems, and social media strategies.

• Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights.

Required Experience:

• Minimum 6 years of professional experience in knowledge management, communications, or related roles.

• Proven track record in developing and implementing knowledge management systems.

• Experience in global health programs, research dissemination, and stakeholder engagement.

• Skilled in organizing workshops, webinars, and learning sessions for internal and external audiences.

• Demonstrated ability to document lessons learned and best practices for organizational learning.
