The Internist will provide comprehensive diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive medical care to adult patients with a wide range of acute and chronic illnesses. The role includes inpatient and outpatient services, clinical leadership, mentorship of junior staff, and participation in quality improvement initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality clinical care for adult medical patients in OPD, IPD, Emergency, and ICU as required.

  • Diagnose, managing, and follow up acute and chronic medical conditions.

  • Perform and interpret diagnostic tests and investigations.

  • Lead and supervise medical ward rounds and case management.

  • Provide consultation services to other departments.

  • Ensure proper documentation of patient records and medical reports.

  • Participate in referral decisions and coordination of patient transfers.

  • Support emergency and on-call services as per hospital schedule.

  • Mentor and train general practitioners, medical interns, and nurses.

  • Participate in clinical audits, mortality reviews, and quality improvement activities.

  • Ensure compliance with national treatment guidelines and hospital protocols.

  • Promote infection prevention and patient safety practices.

  • Participate in hospital emergency preparation and outbreak response.

Job Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from a recognized institution, with Specialization in Internal Medicine.

  • Valid professional license from relevant national regulatory authority.

  • Minimum of 2–5 years of relevant clinical experience after specialization is preferred.

  • Strong clinical and surgical decision-making skills.

  • Ability to perform under pressure and manage high patient volumes.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills.

  • Fluency in English (required); knowledge of local language(s) is an advantage.

  • Commitment to humanitarian principles and professional ethics.

  • Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced outbreak environments.

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.

  • Proactive, flexible, and capable of managing multiple responsibilities.
