Our mission is to empower businesses with seamless and reliable digital payment systems across Ethiopia.

The Manager, POS Sales & Merchant Operations, is responsible for overseeing POS sales, device deployment, monitoring performance, and managing strategic partnerships. The role ensures that SantimPay’s POS network operates efficiently, merchants receive timely support, and new business opportunities are developed to grow market share and transaction volumes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

   1. POS Sales & Merchant Acquisition

  • Lead nationwide POS sales strategy and drive merchant acquisition targets.

  • Identify high-potential sectors and commercial opportunities for POS expansion.

  • Support sales teams in negotiations, pricing, and onboarding processes.

  • Coordinate with the marketing team to execute sales campaigns and promotional activities.

   2. POS Deployment & Field Operations

  • Oversee the end-to-end POS deployment process, including installation, activation, and merchant training.

  • Ensure efficient allocation of devices and timely dispatch for new and replacement units.

  • Manage field technicians and ensure compliance with deployment SLAs.

    Maintain accurate records of device inventory, deployment logs, and merchant profiles.

   3. Monitoring, Performance & Support

  • Monitor POS uptime, transaction performance, and system reliability.

  • Work closely with the technical team to resolve outages, performance issues, or merchant complaints.

  • Analyze transaction trends, merchant activity, and identify improvement opportunities.

  • Implement merchant retention programs and reduce inactive POS devices.

   4. Partnerships & Relationship Management

  • Manage relationships with commercial partners including banks, merchants, agents, and vendors.

  • Oversee partner onboarding, integration requirements, and continuous engagement.

  • Ensure alignment of field operations with partnership agreements and operational policies.

  • Represent SantimPay in stakeholder meetings, events, and business reviews.

   5. Strategy, Reporting & Compliance

  • Develop annual operational plans for POS growth and merchant experience.

  • Prepare performance reports, forecasts, and management presentations.

  • Ensure compliance with NBE directives and local regulatory requirements related to POS services and merchant acquiring.

  • Strengthen internal processes to improve deployment efficiency and merchant satisfaction.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Marketing, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in POS operations, merchant acquiring, fintech, or banking.

  • Proven experience managing teams, operations, or field deployment activities.

  • Strong regulatory knowledge, including NBE directives related to payment systems and merchant acquiring.

Preferred

  • Prior experience in fintech or digital payments operations.

  • Experience with POS device management, terminal applications, and merchant support systems.

  • MBA or other advanced degree is an advantage.
