Established in 2006, Pioneer Diagnostic Centre (PDC) is a forerunner in quality medical imaging and diagnostic services in Ethiopia, with a portfolio of state-of-the-art new-generation MRI, CT scan, X-Ray, Mammography, Fluoroscopy and Ultrasound machines. PDC operates from seven centers in Addis Ababa and three centers in outside Addis Ababa. 

Contribute to the realization of the organizational purpose of the Pioneer Diagnostic Center by administering prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, observing patient records, significant conditions and reactions, and notifying the supervisor or physician on patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments and significant incidents.  

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques.

• Provide general nursing care to patients. 

• Observe patient records, significant conditions and reactions, and notifies the supervisor or physician on patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments and significant incidents.

• Take temperature, pulse, blood pressure and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess condition of patient.

• Provide clarification on type of procedure and pricing to reception staff and/or patient when needed. 

• Fill out the Patient History Form properly.

• Advise the procedures to patients to reduce anxieties for obtaining patient cooperation.

• Explain to patients about CT scan, MRI and contrast injection.

• Reassure to all patients before giving intravenous contrast injections that they may feel, heat around their face, neck and chest area which lasts for a few seconds and its temporary.

• Properly explain patients or attendants on how to take oral contrast and its use. 

• Secure an IV cannula prior to scanning for patients who need to be given a contrast injection. E.g. Abdominal CT, Chest CT, angiography…etc

• Take precaution for patients with a history of asthma before giving intravenous contrast injection and consider giving hydrocortisone after consulting their physician or the radiologist 

Additional functions

• Relate well with supervisor and colleagues.

• Treat employees courteously and respectfully.

• Help Pioneer staff in any possible way when assistance is needed.

• Collaborate in social activities of PDC.

• Volunteer to fill in gaps or when requested.

• Contribute to society through involvement in corporate social responsibilities of the company.

Job Requirements

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

• BSC Degree in nursing and minimum 3 Years Relevant experience 

• College Diploma + TVET level IV in nursing and minimum 5 years of relevant experience
