A Mechanical Machine Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining mechanical machinery in a manufacturing or production environment. This role requires technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Set up, operate, and monitor mechanical machines such as lathes, milling machines, CNC equipment, or assembly line machinery.​

• Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting to ensure machines run efficiently and minimize downtime.​

• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.​

• Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace.​

• Document machine operations, maintenance activities, and any issues encountered.​

• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and resolve operational problems.​

Job Requirements

Educational and Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification is a plus.​

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience operating mechanical machinery in a manufacturing or industrial environment.​

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in operating, setting up, and maintaining mechanical machines such as lathes, milling machines, CNC equipment, and assembly lines.​

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.​

• Familiarity with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.) and quality control procedures.​

• Basic math and measurement skills for calculations and adjustments.​

Personal and Safety Skills

• Strong attention to detail and quality control.​

• Understanding of workplace safety practices and ability to follow safety protocols.​

• Physical stamina to stand, lift, and move during shifts.​

• Good communication and teamwork skills. 

• Problem-solving abilities and mechanical aptitude.​

• Willingness to learn new technologies and processes.​

• Certification such as Certified Production Technician (CPT) is valued but not always required.
