Job Description
ATS is seeking a skilled and highly organized Laundry Manager to oversee all laundry operations at our remote mining site in Assosa – Kurmuk. The successful candidate will manage the laundry team, ensure high-quality service standards, and maintain strong compliance with hygiene, safety, and operational procedures.
This role requires excellent leadership, strong attention to detail, and the ability to operate efficiently in a high-volume environment.
Manage daily laundry operations, ensuring timely and high-quality processing of linens, uniforms, and guest items.
Supervise and coordinate laundry staff, ensuring efficient workflow and task allocation.
Ensure all laundry machinery and equipment are correctly operated, maintained, and reported for repairs when needed.
Implement and monitor strict hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards.
Maintain inventory of chemicals, detergents, and consumables; ensure timely replenishment.
Oversee sorting, washing, drying, folding, ironing, and quality control processes.
Enforce proper handling and care of laundry items to prevent damage or loss.
Train and develop the laundry team to improve performance and service standards.
Monitor and control laundry-related costs, including utilities, chemicals, and equipment usage.
Prepare duty rosters for staff and ensure proper implementation and follow-up.
Develop and maintain checklists, schedules, and daily operational reports.
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and site procedures.
Work closely with housekeeping, accommodation, and other departments to meet operational needs.
Qualifications & Experience
Degree or certificate in Hospitality Management or related field.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in laundry operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
Strong knowledge of laundry processes, commercial laundry equipment, and chemical usage.
Experience managing a diverse team in a high-volume environment.
Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet performance deadlines.
Physically fit and able to pass pre-employment and medical checks.
Experience in remote-site or camp operations is an added advantage.
Work Schedule
Rotational Shift: 6 weeks on duty / 2 weeks off
Daily Shift: 1
