Job Description

To develop and maintain a structured environment that will facilitate the development and ongoing maintenance of IT services within Awash Wines SC, with minimum downtime and maximum security and data integrity. Supervise adherence of Health and Safety policies and procedures in the workplace. The IT Manager is responsible for monitoring all IT related activities in the company in all sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of an on-going IT Strategy of the Company.

  • Lead large IT projects, including the design and deployment of new IT systems and services.

  • Manage External suppliers and contractors engaged in approved projects. 

  • Ensure computer users to follow company IT Policy and procedures and secure and effective operation of all computer systems, related applications, hardware and software that is used in the company.

  • Responsible for proposing and gaining agreement to the IT Security and IT Services Management strategies. 

  • Responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining policies and procedures to support IT Service. 

  • Ensuring security of the physical and virtual components of Information Technology such as security of the server rooms and installing virus protections and firewalls

  • Working closely with other department Managers to assess the growth needs and maintenance of the company’s network.

  • Responsible to manage and control ERP(SYSPRO) and follow-up the update of the system. 

  • Communicate with SYSPRO consultants continually for any system request comes from end users.

  • Manage and control all servers of the company and keep backup of the company database, especially, SYSPRO data. 

  • Give due follow up on day-to-day IT operation activities through remote access for different braches of the company.   

  • Enhancing the Help Desk system and other systems in the company.

  • Build and lead all communications with IT service suppliers, like ETHIO- Telecom. 

  • Evaluating the quality of IT equipment and insure there are purchased as per specification before handover to end-users.

  • Draft IT equipment specification for purchase and follow-up on the purchasing process. 

  • Follow-up all IT service license renewal process and subscription fees of subscription agents (IT service venders).

  • Follow-up the company website and control access and changes on the contents.

  • Manage and control the company email (Outlook) and create email accounts for newcomers.   

  • Monitor performance of information technology systems to determine cost and productivity levels, and to make recommendations for improving the IT infrastructure

  • Responsible for developing, maintaining and communicating IT policies and procedures to all end users.

  • Ensure that an IT Service continuity plan is developed, implemented, tested and maintained.

  • Develop, implement and maintain the IT Security policy ensuring that appropriate procedures are put in place to safeguard corporate data. 

  • Ensure that regular external benchmarking of the IT Services is undertaken to ensure that it reflects best practices within the industry. 

  • Provide direction, consulting, approval, administration and monitor major projects and overall IT performance.

  • Manage It related communications with regards to outages and service updates.

  • Ensure Incidents are resolved within agreed IT Service Levels.

  • Ensure that the company’s data and information are protected from unauthorized access.

  • Initiate and raise purchase Request (PR) and selecting and purchasing appropriate hardware and software.

  • Facilitate and maintain effective communication of, achievements, plans, expectations and goals of the company to employees.

  • Draft the annual plan, budget of IT unit and share to all unit in IT team. 

  • Identify the manpower requirement of IT unit and attend departmental recruitment and selection process.

  • Performs other related tasks as assigned by the immediate manager.

Job Requirements

Education:

  • MSC Degree or BSC Degree in ICT or Computer Science or Related Field. 

Experience:

  • 8 Years of Work Experience for MSC Degree or 10 Years of Work Experience for BSC in Information Communication Technology or System Administration or System Digitization out of which 3 years on Managerial position.
