Professional Alliance for Development (PADet) is an indigenous, not-for-profit, nongovernmental development and humanitarian organization established in 1998. It has been serving disadvantaged and marginalized segments of the community, especially youth, women, and children in the areas of Reproductive Health, HIV/AIDs Prevention & Care, Child Development & Safeguarding, Gender Equality and Women Empowerment and Livelihood & Food Security for the last 25 years.

PADet, in partnership with JSI has planned to implement a project entitled “Momentum Integrated Health Resilience”/MIHER designed and managed by a Consortium led by IMA World Health, is a global initiative that partners with governments and local stakeholders in fragile states and regions. 

MIHR focuses on equipping health institutions and frontline workers with the skills, tools, and resources to sustainably address the leading causes of maternal and child deaths.

The project is intended to be implemented in selected woredas of Central Gonder in the Amhara region. 

PADet is putting the following advert to recruit qualified and competent candidates for the following job opportunities supporting implementation of the MIHER project.

Location:           In Gonder and actual duty station will be decided 

Report to :          Cluster Coordinator

Duration of employment: One year with possibility of extension based on performance and availability of budget

Number of staff required: 1

Job position summary: The specialist will serve as a field-based technical expert at the cluster level, providing direct, operational support to Primary Health Care Units (PHCUs) and their respective Woreda Health Offices. This pivotal role focuses on improving the efficiency, clinical quality, and management of core services, with an emphasis on Maternal, Newborn, Child Health (MNCH) and integrated Nutrition interventions (e.g., IMAM, IYCF). The Specialist/Technical expertise will facilitate the implementation of MIHR-E's service delivery strategies, ensuring local staff master the methodologies required for continuous Quality Improvement (QI) and sustainable operational resilience in the intervention areas

Job Requirements

  • Masters/Degree in health-related fields with a focus on reproductive, maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health or health service management or related fields.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in the private or public health sector, with a proven track record in supporting private or public health facilities at the district level.

  • Experience of working in health facilities for at least for 2 years and has solid knowledge on hospital-level care 

  • Solid understanding of quality improvement methodologies and tools in healthcare settings, especially in the area of RMNCAH.

  • Extensive experience in developing and nurturing successful public-private partnerships in the healthcare sector, particularly in the context of RMNCAH services.

  • Familiarity with Ethiopia's healthcare system, policies, and regulations pertaining to RMNCAH services and public health facilities.

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

  • Speaking of more than one local language is a plus
