Professional Alliance for Development (PADet) is an indigenous, not-for-profit, nongovernmental development and humanitarian organization established in 1998. It has been serving disadvantaged and marginalized segments of the community, especially youth, women, and children in the areas of Reproductive Health, HIV/AIDs Prevention & Care, Child development & safeguarding, Women Development & empowerment and Livelihood &Food Security for the last 25 years.

 PADet needs to recruit qualified and competent candidates for the following job opportunities at head office level.

1, Job title: Cashier Accountant

Grade level: V

Duty station:  Head Office- Office

Report to: Senior Accountant

Sex: Female

Number of staff required: 1

Summary of the Position: Under the supervision of Senior Accountant, responsible to prepare & effect check/cash payments as per PADet's procedure, compile financial supporting documents and prepare monthly cash book and coding on documents, handle petty cash supported by accepted vouchers. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Handle petty cash fund, execute cash payment according to the financial plan, and settle expenses in time, supported with necessary financial documents and ordered to do so by the appropriate authority

  • Check and processes all cheque/cash disbursements at head office by preparing the necessary cash payment vouchers

  • Make sure all advances are settled as per the procedure and report to immediate supervisor for unsettled advances if any,

  • Collect bank statements and other advice from bank and make sure all deposits have respective cash receipt vouchers.

  • Prepare monthly cash book and make sure all payment vouchers and supporting documents have paid stamp immediately after payment is effected,

  • Make coding of payment vouchers based on the organization’s chart of account

  • Facilitate & make tax related payments to concerned government bodies

  • Take on other responsibilities within the project that will help the team to achieve the desired results.

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Diploma/BA degree in Accounting. 

  • At least 3years of experience in related position (NGO experience is advantageous) 

  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft basic, internet and Financial Accounting software

  • Enough knowledge of financial system & procedure.

  • Good communications and interpersonal skills. 

Personal Competency:

  • Willingness to work extra working hours and weekends with staff.

  • Willingness to travel to field when assigned to do so

  • Highly motivated, self-managed 

  • Withstand pressure

  • Able to provide guarantee
