Job Description

The role focuses on empowering women’s groups and women cooperatives in target kebeles to enhance their social, economic, and organisational capacities. The successful candidate will work directly with members of women collectives, village development structures, including traditional authorities, and government staff in the target kebeles. The position reports to the Project Officer. The duty station is Kotoba field office, located about fifty kilometers from Ginchi or Ambo towns.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Strengthen women’s collectives through tailored training, hands-on coaching, and continuous technical support.

  • Support the development of women’s groups into sustainable organisations or cooperatives.

  • Drive gender-transformative change within groups and households through targeted capacity-building initiatives.

  • Promote financial inclusion by facilitating access to savings, credit services, and financial literacy programs.

  • Develop and strengthen market linkages to expand income-generating opportunities for women at both individual and group levels.

  • Lead monitoring, documentation, and reporting of group progress, lessons learned, and best practices.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in development studies, gender studies, or related field. 

  • Minimum two years of experience working with rural communities and women’s groups. 

  • Proficiency in English, Afaan Oromo, and Amharic both spoken and written.

  • Strong technical, facilitation, coaching, communication, and learning skills.

  • Ability to ride a motorcycle.

Willingness to reside in rural areas and carry out work from those locations.
