Position Details
Position Title: Vice Managing Director
Reports To: Managing Director
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: Gross 75,000 ETB (Seventy-Five Thousand Birr) + additional benefits

Position Summary
The Vice Managing Director (VMD) is a senior leadership position responsible for supporting the Managing Director in school-wide leadership, administration, strategic planning, academic quality management, and operational oversight.
The VMD is expected to work independently, lead major school functions, and ensure the effective implementation of the Academy’s vision, mission, and quality standards.
The VMD directly supervises and evaluates:
Duties & Responsibilities:
Administrative & Strategic Leadership
Lead, develop, evaluate, and execute the school’s strategic plans.
Support and coordinate daily administrative operations across all departments.
Participate in leadership meetings, policy development, and organizational decision-making.
Oversee the implementation of school policies, rules, and procedures.
Academic Supervision
Work closely with academic leaders, site directors, team leaders, and teachers.
Ensure high academic standards, proper curriculum implementation, effective assessments, and strong student performance.
Support and supervise ongoing professional development programs for teachers.
Student Affairs & Discipline
Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
Oversee discipline management, student attendance, and welfare systems.
Resolve conflicts involving students, parents, and staff when required.
Staff Management
Support recruitment, supervision, evaluation, and professional growth of staff.
Strengthen communication between staff and management.
Promote staff motivation, teamwork, accountability, and performance excellence.
Communication & Stakeholder Relations
Serve as a key communication point for parents and external partners.
Represent the school during meetings, events, and official engagements as delegated.
Promote the Academy’s image, values, and programs to internal and external stakeholders.
Operational Oversight
Support budget planning, resources allocation, and financial administration.
Oversee school facilities, materials, and logistics.
Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
Job Requirements
Qualifications and Requirements
Educational Requirements
Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership, Educational Management, School Administration, or related fields (minimum requirement).
Professional Experience
Minimum 7 years of top-level experience in school leadership or administration (e.g., Managing Director, Academic Manager, Principal, Superintendent).
Experience must be from recognized private schools in Addis Ababa.
Proven experience in team leadership, staff management, and academic program supervision.
Strong understanding of curriculum implementation, teaching methodologies, and school operations.
