• CVM is looking for a highly reliable, practical, and organized individual with strong auto mechanic background who can ensure its vehicles are always road-ready, skilled in driving, and also providing crucial support to keep the office and its logistics running smoothly.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

1. Vehicle Maintenance & Mechanical Work

• Perform routine, minor maintenance: oil/filter changes, replacing bulbs, checking fluid levels, lubricating parts, basic servicing.

• Monitor vehicle condition and report major mechanical issues to supervisor.

• Follow up on regular servicing schedules and ensure inspection/roadworthiness certificates as required by law.

• Maintain necessary tools and spare parts, ensure they are available and stored properly.

• Monitor conditions of cars based at project level and coordinate with selected garages for major maintenance

• Check and confirm technical compliance and roadworthiness of vehicles before operation

• Communicate and advise drivers on cars maintenance requirements

• Monitor garage performance and advise management accordingly

Driving & Vehicle Operation

• Drive organization’s vehicle(s) safely and responsibly in accordance with traffic laws, internal policies, and supervisor instructions.

• Ensure the vehicle is used only for organizational purposes.

• Perform daily checks of vehicle: engine oil, coolant, tires, lights, brakes, safety equipment (fire extinguisher, first aid kit etc.).

• Maintain cleanliness inside & outside of the vehicle.

• Keep accurate records/logbooks of trips, fuel usage, mileage, repairs, and maintenance.

Liaison / Administrative Duties

• Liaise with garage, government offices, regulatory bodies, vendors, garages etc. for vehicle registration, inspections, certifications, permits, and other relevant documentation.

• Follow up and process yearly bolo renewal of vehicles at Road authorities 

• Collection of proforma

• Assist in procurement related to vehicle spare parts, maintenance and services as per organization policies.

• Deliver and collect documents, parcels, official correspondence as needed.

• Prepare service / maintenance / driver reports, and assist with administrative tasks (e.g. submitting incident / accident reports).

Job Requirements

• At least Diploma/TVET 4 complete in Auto mechanics

• At least 7 years’ experience as auto mechanic & vehicle management including driving 

• Have experience in similar NGO or governmental organizations. 

• Have valid Driving license, at least Public 1 

• Strong understanding of automotive systems (engine, transmission, drivetrain, HVAC, brakes, electrical).

• Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and work orders
