Position : Program Director

Reports to : Executive Director

Duty station :  Head office in Addis Ababa, with frequent travel to project areas.

Duration of contract: : One year with possibility of extension based on performance and availability of funds

Salary/Remuneration :  As per organization scale

Primary role and Accountability 

The  primary role of the program director is to provide strategic leadership, Gap and need assessment, program development, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation to ensure organizational goals are met. This includes effective project planning, coordination, organizing, reporting, documentation, and communication across internal units, donors, and government stockholders, budget management, staff supervision and capacity development. The Program director will also provide comprehensive technical, programmatic, and administrative coordination of program department and ensuring program quality, demonstrating results to stakeholders, and managing risks. The Program director will play a critical role in program planning and review, workflow alignment, donor/government reporting, and documentation, thereby ensuring program efficiency, integration, and accountability.

Job Requirements

First and/or second degree in health, social studies, project management or other relevant disciplines, with 15 or more years of work experience for first degree of which 10 or more years in NGO at senior managerial level; and 8 years or more work experience for second degree of which 5 years or more in NGO at senior managerial position. Demonstrable experience in building and maintaining effective relationship and partnership with diverse stakeholder. Proven experience in quality proposal development, and managing grants from different donors, data management and developing quality program report. experienced in program budget monitoring and management.

Skills

Strong leadership skills, Team management, communication coordination, facilitation and presentation skill.  Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain high-quality work. Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Data management tools.  excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and other local languages.
