Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plans, coordinates, manages and controls the activities of the division. 

  • Develops and maintains financial record keeping and reporting systems. 

  • Supervises, directs, and reviews the work of the accounting staff (including, but not limited to, bank reconciliations, check runs, accounts receivable transactions, fixed asset activity, payroll, accounts payable transactions, debt activity, recording of revenue and expenses, etc.). 

  • Reviews and checks monthly trial balance.

  • Prepares periodic financial reports and submits to the higher officials. 

  • Ensures that all general ledger accounts are reconciled to subsidiary records on a monthly basis and posting is accurately done.

  • Ensures an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end closing.

  • Produces periodic financial statements including balance sheet, profit/loss statements, retained earnings statement and cash flow statement using company’s preferred accounting system.

  • Assists the Corporate Finance Department in the daily banking requirements.

  • Assists the cash/treasury division in monitoring the funds in the bank accounts, as well as transfer of funds to optimize the cash flow management.

  • Forecasts cash flow positions, related borrowing needs, and available funds for investment.

  • Applies & maintains a system of policies and procedures that impose an adequate level of control over accounting activities.

  • Advises staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.

  • Responds to inquiries from the Corporate Finance and Investment Director and other directors & managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests and the like.

  • Work with the Corporate Finance and Investment Director to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit.

  • Supervise the general accounts staff to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.

  • Supervises preparation of invoices & vouchers.

  • Maintains organized set of detailed records and files to document financial transactions.

  • Makes and implements recommendations to improve accounting processes and procedures.

  • Generates periodic reports about its division & presents to the Finance Department.

  • Performs other duties as assigned or required by the corporate Finance & investment department.

Job Requirements

  • BA Degree in accounting and Finance and other related fields.

  • 8 years relevant experience.
