The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and possess a strong understanding of safety principles and environmental protection practices within a manufacturing setting. This position requires the ability to work collaboratively with all departments and the safety committee to foster a strong HSE culture.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and/or update health, safety, and environmental management risk assessments and plans, review them regularly, and keep them up to date at all times together with the safety committee.

  • Design strategies to reduce incidents of illness, environmental accidents, and other issues that may affect employee safety. This includes consideration of hazards associated with plastic pipe manufacturing processes and materials.

  • Ensure that all health and safety policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and best practices are adhered to and are regularly reviewed, updated, and communicated effectively to all employees.

  • Ensure that all employees are aware of their responsibilities regarding the environment, health, and safety, emphasizing the specific aspects relevant to our plastic pipe manufacturing operations.

  • Take appropriate precautions to ensure that all work processes within the facility shall not be a source or cause of physical, chemical, biological, ergonomic, or psychological hazards to the health and safety of the workers.

  • Inspect work sites and the work of personnel regularly to identify potential issues or non-conformities, paying close attention to areas specific to our pipe production.

  • Ensure warning signs and safety instructions are properly placed throughout the facility, including those related to chemical hazards and specific machinery used in plastic pipe manufacturing.

  • Stay up-to-date with local, state, and federal regulations related to environmental, health, and safety, including OSHA standards, and ensure their thorough implementation within the company.

  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and address potential EHS risks and non-compliance issues, with a strong focus on OSHA requirements and industry best practices for plastic manufacturing.

  • Collaborate with relevant departments (e.g., production, maintenance, quality control) to implement effective controls and preventive measures for identified hazards.

  • Investigate incidents (accidents, near misses, environmental spills) thoroughly and implement appropriate corrective and preventive actions to avoid recurrence.

  • Maintain accurate and detailed incident reporting systems and documentation.

  • Track and analyze incident data to identify trends, root causes, and implement proactive preventive measures specific to our plastic pipe manufacturing environment.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive emergency response plans and procedures, including those for chemical spills, fire emergencies, and other potential incidents in a plastic manufacturing setting.

  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to effectively monitor EHS performance within the company.

  • Collect and analyze data related to EHS performance to evaluate the effectiveness of implemented programs and identify areas for continuous improvement.

  • Continuously assess and improve the EHS management systems and processes to enhance overall performance and ensure ongoing compliance, aligning with our ISO 9001:2015 certification.

  • Implement best practices and relevant industry standards to enhance EHS performance beyond minimum regulatory requirements.

  • Conduct thorough inspections and risk assessments for environmental, health, and safety hazards associated with our plastic pipe manufacturing processes, equipment, and materials.

  • Implement and maintain robust safety protocols and environmental management plans tailored to the specific risks of our pipe production.

  • Provide comprehensive training on EHS best practices, company policies, and regulatory procedures (including OSHA standards) to all employees.
