Position: Operations Analyst
The Operations Analyst will support the country office teams within the IFC-Ethiopia Cluster (Ethiopia, Malawi, and Zambia) with:
Program management
Business development
Business intelligence objectives to support private sector growth in Ethiopia
The Operations Analyst will be based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, reporting directly to the Country Manager. Although this is primarily an Ethiopia-based position, the successful candidate may be asked to assist with the consolidation and preparation of relevant cluster reports and programs.
Business Development Support:
Perform desk research regarding the Ethiopia cluster market landscape.
Keep abreast of market intelligence and developments globally.
Participate in key projects and lead project/client data collection and analytics.
Participate in diagnostic missions and help refine output quality.
Contribute to the development of project concept notes and implementation plans.
Collaborate with project teams on various documentation.
Support the Country Office in organizing high-level missions.
Plan and organize conferences, training, workshops, and other events.
Develop proposals for clients, including donors.
Assist in processing internal documentation for project approval.
Portfolio Management Support:
Assist in the preparation of projects and supervision.
Monitor project timelines to ensure updates are completed on time.
Ensure high data quality in all project documents.
Work with project leaders to prepare initial drafts of donor reports.
Country and Industry Advisory Support:
Assist the Cluster in strategy building and project coordination.
Provide analytical and technical support to project teams.
Support high standardization and quality in client deliverables.
Assist in due diligence analysis and timely report delivery.
Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Management, Economics, or related fields.
At least 4 years of relevant experience in Ethiopia.
A team player with good problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong understanding of the economic, social, and political landscape.
Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.
Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
Strong command of English (written and verbal); knowledge of other languages spoken in Ethiopia is desirable.
Proficiency in relevant research tools (e.g., Factiva, IBM, MIX, Bloomberg).
