Job Description
Dan Church Aid (DCA) is a Denmark-based international NGO registered under certificate # 1083 by the Authority for Civil Society Organizations and working to improve the wellbeing of particularly the rural and pre-urban people in Ethiopia. DCA’s Programme mainly focus on save live, building resilience and fighting inequality targeting highly disaster-prone areas in Oromia, Amhara, Afar, South Omo and Gambella regions.
Currently, the DCA Ethiopia Office is looking for a competent Community Development Facilitator for Lalibella, Gazgibila and Sehala districts.
Overall responsibility
The overall responsibility of the community development facilitator is to organize and mobilize MPCA (Multipurpose cash) target beneficiaries in project locations and kebele level support for implementation of ECHO funded/DCA’s projects in Amhara region. The Community Development Facilitator is expected to manage and contribute to beneficiary selection and supporting complaint handling and response mechanisms, community mobilization and awareness creation on humanitarian cash utilization, protection and MEA ( Meaningful access) issues integrated for the multipurpose cash assistance project implemented by DCA.
Facilitate project activity planning and community discussion at Kebele community level through organizing FGDs and other tools.
Collect relevant information to project planning processes directly from the beneficaries and community representatives.
Manage MPCA distribution process at project sites in collaboration with DCA team and FSP.
Prepare project activity reports at Woreda/Kebele level to share the update to immediate supervisor on essential updates and actions
Provide project inputs to the planning process and ensure community level issues and concerns are included in concept notes and proposals.
Actively engage in mobilization, beneficiary awareness creation and verification process for MPCA project in Amhara region
Proactively engage in establishing community-based targeting and complaint committees in collaboration with the project stakeholders
Facilitate technical training on humanitarian response action like MPCA, CbEWS, conflict sensitivity and protection to community representation and beneficiaries at grass root level
Participate in post distribution monitoring activities in collaboration with MEAL team and share updates reports to line manager.
Reports and representation
Collect and report daily progress and updates to the field office regarding the implementation of the project.
Regularly collect and report on challenges and community feedback and working change context.
Represent DCA in community-based initiatives, Woreda/Keble level humanitarian meeting and promote the values of DCA.

First degree in DRR, agriculture, development studies and any other related field and two years’ experience in similar area or context.
Has direct field experience preferably in emergency settings with NGOs/humanitarian actors.
Good Knowledge of the emergency operations in Ethiopia
Good report writing skills and computer skills in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Knowledge of the operational context is advantageous.
Fluency in written and oral English is a must.
