Position: Operations Coordinator
Classification: Middle Management
Reports to: Office Manager
Location: Addis Ababa  / OPS Division (Oil Seed, Pulses, and Spices)

The Role

Under the supervision of the OPS Division Manager, the Operations Coordinator is responsible for the strategic planning and execution of activities aimed at developing higher-value market opportunities for oil seed, pulses, and spices trading. The Operations Coordinator plays a key role in contributing to the growth, development, and achievement of the company’s vision through the effective implementation of its mission and core values.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, direct, coordinate, and control the activities of the operations center.

  • Assist in developing and implementing marketing strategies, sales plans, and operational procedures to ensure efficiency.

  • Participate in the procurement and selling processes of OPS in consultation with the Division Manager and Trading Department Head.

  • Establish and maintain long-term business relationships with potential customers to enhance efficiency and profitability.

  • Ensure the successful completion of shipments and orders in consultation with the transport and traffic departments while meeting deadlines.

  • Maintain and promote the company’s image nationally and internationally by upholding ethical and professional standards.

  • Monitor and assess the quality, quantity, and pricing of exportable OPS in compliance with company regulations.

  • Conduct internal and external market analysis, including SWOT assessments, and propose recommendations for strategic decision-making.

  • Explore and implement innovative marketing activities to retain existing clients and attract new markets.

  • Stay updated on technical advancements and industry trends relevant to OPS trading.

  • Analyze global and local industry data (daily/weekly/monthly) and provide insights and recommendations to the Division Manager.

  • Contribute to sales forecasting and strategic planning to enhance profitability.

  • Identify and mitigate trading risks to support sustainable business growth.

  • Organize and maintain a digitalized database for market trends, pricing, and client information.

  • Participate in international trade fairs, seminars, and exhibitions representing the company.

  • Evaluate the financial aspects of the export process, including budgets, expenditures, ROI, and profit-loss projections.

  • Conduct customer satisfaction surveys to maintain a competitive advantage in the industry.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Division Manager or COO.

Job Requirements

Requirements

Education:

  • BA/BSc/MBA/MSc in Economics, Agricultural Economics, or a related discipline.

Experience:

  • 4-6 years of experience in oil seed, pulses, and spices export marketing, with at least 2-5 years in a senior supervisory role.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong business development and implementation skills.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of oil seed, pulses, and spices export procedures nationally and internationally.

  • Understanding of national and global OPS business operations and documentation processes.

  • Familiarity with national and foreign export and customs policies.

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

  • High degree of integrity and professionalism.
