Job Description
The Project Manager will lead the field-level implementation of a UNICEF-funded project focused on integrated gender and climate-responsive education and child protection. This project, titled "Integrated gender and climate-responsive education and child protection programme in refugee and IDP settings in the Benishangul Gumuz region of Ethiopia," aims to address the protection needs of refugee, IDP, and host community children and adolescents in the region. Based in Benishangul Gumuz, the Project Manager will oversee project activities in partnership with UNICEF, Assosa University, relevant government bureaus (Education, Women and Social Affairs, UNHCR, RRS, and other implementing partners and service providers

Safeguarding Child and Young People (safeguarding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion(GEI)
Understands and puts into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), ensuring that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.
Ensures that the team members under supervision are properly inducted on and understands their role in upholding Plan International’s safeguarding and GEI policies;
Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in day-to-day work.
Ensures that Plan Ethiopia contributes to Plan International’s global efforts to ensure safeguarding and GEI, including making sure that relevant reporting and data are submitted.
The Individual
Bachelor’s Degree (MA preferred) in s, Psychology, Social Work, Education, Community Development, Law, Political Science and minimum 7 years plus relevant experience and of which at least 3 years in managerial position with NGOs in leading programs/ projects or demonstrated equivalent combination. Depth and breadth of knowledge of Plan’s global and national strategies and policies. Ability to communicate effectively and authoritatively on area of expertise. Ability to develop effective working relationships across a network.
Knowledge:
Knowledge of Education and child protection sector including, response interventions/strategies, standards, principles and procedures
In-depth knowledge of humanitarian program cycle management and child centred protection programming
Knowledge of new developments and trends in the humanitarian sector including challenges and opportunities and their implications to the protection of children
