Job Description
The main purpose of the job is to implement “To address multi-faceted barriers faced by adolescents and youth in accessing age-and-gender responsive SRHR service and skills and opportunities for youth employment and entrepreneurship interventions through NORAD project. The overall aim is to address the prevalent problems related to education, SRHR, SOYEE of Adolescent girls and youth and create a resilient climate for their future in the project area. The position holder will be responsible for all operational aspects of the development program interventions and ensuring the quality and effectiveness of Plan’s programs within his/her designated geographical area mainly related to core areas: Education, SRHR and SOYEE and including handling manpower and budgetary aspects of the projects.

Safeguarding Children and Young People (Safeguarding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI)
Understands and puts into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), ensuring that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.
Ensures that all staff in the unit/function/department are properly inducted on and understands their role in upholding Plan International’s safeguarding and GEI policies;
Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in day to day work.
Ensures that Plan Ethiopia contributes to Plan International’s global efforts to ensure safeguarding and GEI, including making sure that relevant reporting and data are submitted
MSc/BSc in Project Management, Development Studies, Public Health, Sociology, Social work, Education, Economics or other related fields is required
At least 5 years of relevant experience out of which 3 years on a senior level experience or demonstrated equivalent combination.
Good managerial experience, including managing budgets and staff
Equipped with sufficient level of awareness on: Early warning concepts; Disaster risk management practice and knowhow; food security framework; good understanding of national government policies and Agro-pastoralist awareness
Good knowledge of field level realities of humanitarian NGOs work;
Knowledge of national strategies and guidelines on SRH/health, Education, youth economic empowerment issues, gender and disability inclusion, operational research;
Good understanding of the external operating environment including government policies, strategies, guidelines and operating procedures in managing emergencies and disasters in the country Perform multiple, non-technical tasks with a potential need to upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions.
