The position is for a full-time Researcher position based in Addis Ababa. The successful candidate shall undertake evidence syntheses, policy analyses, research, and evaluation. 

The candidate will report to the Knowledge Translation division of Health System Research Directorate

Responsibilities:

1. Undertake evidence syntheses, policy analyses, research, and evaluation.

2. Conduct policy briefs/rapid reviews

3. Conduct HTA (Health technology assessment) studies

4. Respond rapidly to national and subnational policymaker needs for research evidence under the direction of project lead to support decisions. 

5. Support stakeholder engagement activities, including policy dialogues and citizen panels, and any other as might be determined by the technical leads.

6. Contribute and participate in capacity-building activities internally and externally.

7. Implementing the project’s research agenda under the guidance of project lead.

8. Conduct monitoring and evaluation activities, under the direction of project lead.

9. Participate in disseminating results from the division and directorate

10. Perform other duties as may be assigned by the senior researchers and /or the director.

11. Conduct geospatial analysis for health determinants

Job Requirements

• Must hold PhD in public health, demography/geography.

• Must have minimum of 5 years working experience after PhD.

• Good knowledge in research, research methods, and analysis.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to compile and synthesize data and findings into polished comprehensive final reports.

• Excellent interpersonal skills, including flexibility.

• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Experience working in research settings or research projects is an added advantage.

• Having at least 5 Research publications in peer reviewed journals.

• Comfortable with high-profile liaisons.
