The position is for a full-time Researcher position based in Addis Ababa. The successful candidate shall undertake healthcare service delivery researc
The candidate will report to the Health System Research Directorate
Lead and supervise the design, implementation, and evaluation of research projects related to healthcare service delivery, including but not limited to service accessibility, quality, and efficiency.
Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance research productivity, focusing on health service delivery models, effectiveness, and equity.
Ensure the application of advanced research methodologies, including qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods approaches, tailored to healthcare delivery contexts.
Oversee the development and publication of high-quality research findings in peer-reviewed journals and other academic platforms.
Foster strong partnerships with national and international academic institutions, government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and other stakeholders to advance healthcare service delivery research.
Work closely with policymakers, health system managers, and practitioners to ensure that research outcomes inform health system reforms and improve service delivery at all levels.
Engage with community and patient groups to ensure that research is aligned with the needs and expectations of the populations served.
Identify and pursue funding opportunities to support healthcare service delivery research initiatives.
Prepare and submit grant proposals to national and international funding agencies, ensuring alignment with division goals and health sector priorities.
Oversee financial management and ensure responsible allocation of resources for research projects.
Contribute to national and international discussions on health systems strengthening, quality of care, and equitable access to health services.
Produce detailed reports on research progress, outcomes, and impacts for internal and external stakeholders.
Track emerging trends and challenges in healthcare service delivery to inform ongoing and future research projects.
Ensure that all research activities adhere to ethical guidelines and relevant health regulations, with a strong emphasis on safeguarding patient and community rights
Follow ethical review processes for research projects, and actively engage in promoting ethical standards in healthcare service delivery research and stay updated on developments in research ethics,
Perform other duties as may be assigned by the senior researchers and /or the director.
Must hold a minimum of PhD in health service management, and public health
Must have minimum of 5 years working experience as a researcher, coordinator.
Proficiency in advanced data analysis tools (e.g., SPSS, Stata, R, NVivo) and research methodologies (both qualitative and quantitative).
Proven track record at least 5 publication research findings in peer-reviewed journals, presenting at international conferences, and contributing to health policy discussions.
Knowledge of health system frameworks, including universal health coverage, quality of care, health equity, and access to healthcare services.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to compile and synthesize data and findings into polished comprehensive final reports.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including flexibility.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
Comfortable with high-profile liaisons.
