About the role:
The position is for a full-time Researcher position based in Addis Ababa. The successful candidate shall undertake: Analyse and interpret epidemiological data to produce results, utilize specialized statistical software in analysing and interpreting epidemiological data. Specifically proficient in R-Studio, STATA, and SPSS.
Design data collection tools & manage data systems to ensure accuracy. Use scientific methodologies to gather and interpret data. Use statistical analysis software to interpret data. Publishing findings in academic journals. Communicate research findings to health practitioners, policymakers, and the public. Guide and mentor researchers in data analysis and interpretation. Contribute and participate in capacity-building activities internally and externally. Contribute in statistical modelling the burden of both infectious and non-infectious diseases. Implementing the project’s research agenda under the guidance of project lead. Conduct monitoring and evaluation activities, under the direction of project lead. Disseminating results from the project, under the guidance of the project lead.
Candidate requirements:
Must hold a minimum of PhD in Epidemiology & Biostatistics.
Must have minimum of 4 years working experience after PhD degree.
Proven track record at least 5 publication research findings in peer-reviewed journals
Good knowledge in research, research methods, and analysis.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to compile and synthesize data and findings into polished comprehensive final reports.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including flexibility.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
Experience working in research settings or research projects is an added advantage.
Three Research publication in peer reviewed journals and/or
Training on STATA/R-STUDIO./Global Burden of Diseases
