Job Description
To supervise and maintain all farmland are free from pesticide, herbicides etc.
Generic Duties
Sets deadlines in ways that comply with department’s plans and communicate them to subordinates,
Organizes workflow and ensure that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks,
Monitors employee productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching,
Main Duties
Plans, organizes, coordinates, and executes all plant protection activities,
Prepares annual plant protection work program and budget,
Raises purchase requisition of all materials necessary for plant protection activates,
Leads the team in conducting pest and disease assessments,
Reviews and evaluates daily pest and disease assessments and pass decision on spray programs,
Ensure all necessary spraying equipment likes sprayers, tractors, and water available,
Control and approve pest control chemical preparation or mixing to the labels on the chemical containers or chemical mixing work instruction,
Instructs and assignee spray teams in accordance to the assessment based spray decisions,
Leads post spray assessments to prove spray effectiveness,
Conducts regular training of pest assessors, spray teams and spray equipment teams,
Avail protective device to sprayers, assessors, and spray equipment technicians,
Performs other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Qualification and Skills
BSc or MSc in Agricultural engineering or Agronomy or Horticulture or Related fields of studies.
Experience
8 years for BSc
6 years for MSc
