Job Description

Sichen Plastic PLC is seeking a proactive and self-directed HR Manager to oversee and manage the organization's human resource needs. The HR Manager will play a key role in maintaining smooth operations by monitoring labor activities, handling recruitment, and ensuring compliance with company policies. This position is ideal for an active and organized individual with the ability to work independently.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain attendance records for both the morning shift (1:30 LT) and evening shift (12:00 LT).

  • Organize and maintain laborers' documents and ensure proper record-keeping.

  • Monitor labor activities, familiarize with employees’ qualities, and foster a positive and productive work environment.

  • Manage the recruitment process, including onboarding of new employees.

  • Draft and handle work agreements and other HR-related documents.

  • Address employee concerns and mediate disputes to ensure a harmonious workplace.

  • Conduct periodic performance evaluations and recommend improvements where necessary.

  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies.

  • Provide HR support and training as needed. 

Working Conditions:

  • Relocation to the company compound in Toulefa is required.

  • Accommodation is provided, consisting of a house with a mattress (additional items to be purchased by the employee).

  • Working hours: Monday to Friday, 1:30-12:00 LT, and Saturday, 1:30-10:00 LT (afternoon).

  • Transportation allowance is provided. 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Social Sciences, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in HR, with proven ability to apply labor laws and regulations in previous roles.

  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of Ethiopian labor laws and regulations (mandatory).

  • Fluency in English with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in operational software, including Microsoft Office, Google Apps, and other relevant tools.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Female candidate preferred.
