Job Description

Administers petty cash and effects authorized payments ensuring completeness and correctness of supporting documents.

Handles cash collection and timely deposit in the bank

Prepares deposit voucher to record cash collection and deposits

Major Responsibilities

  • Administers petty cash and effects authorized payments ensuring completeness and correctness of supporting documents.

  • Handles cash collection and timely deposit in the bank

  • Prepares deposit voucher to record cash collection and deposits

  • As the cash custodian, he/she ensures safety deposit of financial assets, handles the material supplies according to the material management and finance guidelines of WVE

  • Handles all bank matters except collecting check books, which have to be done by other finance staffs

Job Requirements

Required Professional Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years and above in a similar or related positions

Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification :

  • Degree /diploma in Accounting, Business, supply chain and related field

Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications:

  • BA degree in Accounting, Business and related field

  • Strong MS office (Word, Excel, etc.) and the ability to use new technology, Knowledge of commodity management and documentation

  • Committed to WV’s vision, mission and core values.

  • Patience, good relations with other people, good capacity to work in a team, capacity to manage priorities, precision, capacity to share knowledge and train colleagues, knowing the local language; willingness to work under pressure and extra hours.

  • Ability to perform field assignments and willingness to travel for long period of time in difficult terrain, harsh and demanding conditions.

  • Computer literacy is an added advantage

  • Good understanding of humanitarian standards

Working Environment / Conditions

  • Work environment:  Camp-based with frequent travel to the field where disasters strike and sometimes to conflict areas and under stress conditions (Refugees);

  • Travel:  80% travel to FDPs/ Hubs, Aps is required.

  • On call: 20%
