Job Description

Under the guidance of Regional Director, the regional HIV case identification advisor support planning, designing and implementation of quality comprehensive HIV Positive case identification and prevention for Addis Abeba region with major focus on HIV case identification & prevention activities such as HTS, HRST, ICT, HIVST, PrEP KP, SNS, U=U, GBV related program areas.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support the region in the preparation of regional annual operational plan to integrate HIV case identification and prevention program areas.

  • Participate in regional technical working groups in HIV prevention and Case Identification.

  • Engage in the regional joint supportive supervision, review meeting and support PIP development on identified gaps from the meeting.

  • Support the region to review, analyze & present performance data of HIV comprehensive prevention and HIV case identification services.

  • Support implementation of new initiatives in HIV case identification and prevention in the region including but not limited to long-acting injectable PrEP, mapping of PWID and implementation of integrated clinical services …

  • Provide support to customize and print job Aids, PST, CEM on HTS & HRST, ICT, HIVST, KP, PrEP

  • Provide technical assistance to the region in the provision of basic training on HIV case identification and prevention program areas.

  • Support the region in the U=U messaging in the prevention, care, and treatment messaging.

  • Support the region to conduct GBV QA at GBV clinics and in the provision of comprehensive SGBV services by sites

  • Prepare and submit weekly/monthly performance reports to the regional director.

  • Prepare and submit quarter narrative report.

  • Support the region in the preparation, implementation, and monitoring of quality improvement activities.

  • Support the region to document best practices and replicate them to other health facilities for better implementation of HIV case identification and prevention activities.

  • Timely deliver other requests from supervisors.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Physician, Health officer with MPH with a minimum of 5 years experience in public health approaches, specifically in HIV/AIDS programs.

  • Experience in HIV program technical support specific to HIV case identification and prevention service activities.

  • Experience in teaching, mentoring, organizing, and conducting training.

  • Experience in development of national documents related to HIV/AIDS Programs

  • Excellent interpersonal and coordination skills

  • Proficiency in written and spoken English

  • Computer skills (MS Office and statistical packages)
