Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Technical Oversight:

    • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards set by the Ethiopian Food and Drug Authority (EFDA) and other relevant bodies.

    • Oversee the proper storage, handling, and distribution of pharmaceutical products in compliance with Good Distribution Practices (GDP).

    • Maintain and update product registration and documentation.

  2. Quality Assurance:

    • Monitor the quality of pharmaceuticals to ensure safety, efficacy, and compliance with legal requirements.

    • Conduct periodic inspections and audits of warehouse operations to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).

  3. Inventory and Supply Management:

    • Develop and maintain inventory management systems to prevent shortages or overstocking.

    • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely procurement of quality products.

    • Implement robust tracking systems for pharmaceutical inventory.

  4. Regulatory Compliance:

    • Serve as the point of contact for regulatory bodies and ensure timely submission of required documents and reports.

    • Ensure proper licensing of both the wholesale company and individual professionals as per Ethiopian laws.

  5. Team Leadership and Training:

    • Supervise technical staff, including sales teamsand warehouse personnel, and provide ongoing training.

    • Conduct performance evaluations and identify professional development opportunities.

  6. Customer and Stakeholder Relations:

    • Collaborate with healthcare providers, customers, and suppliers to maintain effective working relationships.

    • Address and resolve technical complaints related to pharmaceutical products.

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Skills:

Education and Certification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (Mandatory).

  • Active and valid professional license from the Ethiopian Food and Drug Authority (EFDA).

Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in pharmaceutical wholesale technical manager 

  • Proven experience in sales, warehouse operations, team management, inventory management, and regulatory compliance.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of Ethiopian pharmaceutical laws and regulations.

  • Proficiency in inventory management systems and software.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to analyze data and implement effective solutions.

  • High level of integrity and attention to detail.

  • Skills related with MS word, MS excel and MS power point.
