Job Description
Main Purpose/Job Summary:
Planning, coordinating, implementing and monitoring all logistics activities in the project related to Water, Health and Sanitation, according to MSF protocols and standards in order to ensure an optimal running of the project.
• In collaboration with the Watsan Team Leader, planning, elaborating and reviewing the annual budget for the Watsan activities in order to identify and give a response to the needs of the mission and the targeted population.
Monitoring on a day-to-day basis the implementation of the Watsan activities in the project ensuring compliance of MSF standards, protocols and procedures, and reporting to the Watsan Team Leader on the development of the ongoing programs including the following:
Designing, implementing and managing all Watsan interventions in the project. • Conducting Watsan assessments in collaboration with project medical teams to identify Watsan needs at project level, and making recommendations for response activities to the line manager
Contribute to the development and planning of emergency response strategies and resources, in collaboration with other departments.
Ensuring availability, proper purchasing, and appropriate technical specifications of required materials and equipment through planning, organizing and overseeing the inventory of the Watsan stock

Participating in the planning and implementation of HR associated processes (training, briefing/debriefing, evaluation, detection of potential, development and communication) of the staff under his/her responsibility in order to ensure both the sizing and the amount of knowledge required to correctly perform all logistics activities pertaining to his area
Ensuring proper collection and monitoring of Watsan data. Ensuring multidisciplinary data availability. Providing analysis of data and regular reporting of results (as requested by line management) Specific Accountabilities:
On daily basis ensure that the water quality in kule HC is in compliance with minimum MSF's standard before distribution and adequate quantity of water is available in the health center.
Plan, organize and lead the overall WatSan related activities and ensure the correct implementation in close coordination with each project WatSan team, departments and management.
Lead the plan and implementation of vector control interventions ( IRS campaign, mass LLINs distributions & environmental management) in the kule project.
In collaboration with the project coordinator and Medical team Leader, elaborating the WatSan strategies and activities for the project, ensuring compliance with essential WatSan requirements, in order to prioritize objectives and plan activities accordingly.
Collaborate with logistics in the planning & designing, construction and taking-over of WatSan facilities.
Strict management of WatSan mini-store to ensure the proper utilization of hygiene & IPC items in the project.
Monitoring the implementation of the WatSan activities in the project on daily basis to ensure their compliance with MSF standards, protocols and procedures, and reporting to the Project Coordinator on the development of the ongoing programs.
Providing technical support to the medical team in identifying possible "risk factors" (e.g. behavioral practices, environmental sources of infection, and transmission routes) and offers solutions for infection control.
Supervise and coach projects’ WATSAN teams to ensure that all MSF-H projects in Gambella region are meeting their objectives through following and being compliant to MSF standards, protocols and procedures.
Propose improvements plans and collabrate with Medical Team Leader in the planning of Watsan related budgets during Annual Planing. • in collaboration with IPC team carry out regular deep cleaning & disinfection in medical & paramedical wards on monthly basis.
Conduct Emergency assessments, identifying WatSan needs and provide feedbacks to MTL/ and PCs on findings and appropriate responses. • prepare Major WatSan activities implementation strategies, micro-plan, completion report & MMR.
Represents MSF-H in Wash coordination meetings with other partners such as UNICEF,UNHCR and RRS.
This position is based in kule refugee camp in Gambella region.

Remuneration and Benefits:
Starting Basic salary: 82,000 ETB
Medical cover: as per the organization's policy
Hardship allowance: 30% of basic Salary
Education
• Essential Criteria: Academic background in (Civil, hydraulic and Environmental) engineering is essential.
• Desirable criteria:Watsan in Emergencies Training within MSF is strongly recommended

Experience
• Essential Criteria: Previous experience in technical aspects of water and sanitation works
• Desirable criteria:Minimum of 6-months of hands on field emergency WHS professional experience in a humanitarian or international development setting
