Job Description
The Development Assistance Specialist (PEPFAR Deputy Country Coordinator) supports the PEPFAR Ethiopia Coordination Office (PECO) by facilitating communication among USG agencies, the Bureau for Global Health Security and Diplomacy (GHSD), and the Ethiopia Country Lead. Working closely with the PEPFAR Country Coordinator, the Deputy oversees critical communications, develops the annual Country Operational Plan (COP), ensures accurate performance reporting, and aligns PEPFAR and Global Fund activities. As a subject matter expert in HIV/AIDS, health policy, and primary care, the Deputy guides strategy within the broader health sector, mentors team members, and acts as Country Coordinator when needed.
Job Requirement
Qualifications required: A Master of Public Health (MPH), Master of Health (MSH) in Public Health, International Development, Health, Social or Behavioral Sciences, Organizational Development, Epidemiology, Biology, Infectious Disease, Political Science, Business Administration, or related fields is required. Minimum seven years’ experience in public health/development programs in developing countries with demonstrated broad technical knowledge and experience in program analysis and planning, and management of programs in developing countries. At least two of the seven years of experience must be in HIV/AIDS is required.
Salary Range: The salary range of the position is FSN-12; $32,085 – $57,777 yearly, articulated in U.S. dollars but paid in Birr
Location of Work: USAID/US Embassy, Entoto Road.
