Job Requirement

Do you have a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science or a relevant field from a recognized college/University?

Do you have experience in least six (6) years of practical experience in safety and related risk management, out of which two (2) years in a supervisory role?

Do you have experience in Expertise in the Ethiopia safety context and trends as well as a good understanding of the most challenging locations?

The Role

Oxfam {affiliate/} is looking for: We are looking for a Country Safety Coordinator who will be responsible for ensuring that the country safety and security strategy is developed, implemented, monitored, and reviewed in line with Oxfam’s policy and standard requirements and to support Oxfam Ethiopia programs capacity to manage safety and security risks effectively providing for effective implementation of program objectives

An ideal candidate for the role will also be/have:

This position will require an exceptional, dedicated, and highly motivated professional, with a strong commitment to Oxfam’s values and beliefs with the following skills and competencies.

  • Expertise in the Ethiopia safety and security context and trends as well as a good understanding of the most challenging security and safety issues.

  • Proven to influence communication, interpersonal, and negotiating skills, with internal and external audiences including in complex and stressful environments.

  • Establishing experiences in providing training including field-based staff.

  • Ability to work under pressure and not lose strategy.

  • Capacity to be stand by 24/7 and ready to travel at a short.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Offices suites or related software to prepare reports, permits, and training

  • Excellent organization skills.

  • Strong analytical problem-solving and reporting skills.

  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.

Desirable

  • Working knowledge of Amharic language and /or other spoken dialects.

  • Advanced training or certification in safety and security is preferred.
