Job Description

Farm Consultants provide complex specialist advice to farmers and livestock breeders to ensure that their business and production is optimized.

Job Requirements:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Science, Agronomy, Animal Science, or a related field.

• A Master’s degree or higher is preferred.

Experience:

• Minimum of 15 years of experience in farm management, agricultural consulting, or a related field.

• Proven expertise in crop and livestock management, farm equipment, and sustainable farming practices.

Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of farm machinery, soil management, pest control, irrigation systems, and modern farming technologies.

• Specialized knowledge in cultivating crops such as maize, sorghum, bananas, and others.

Soft Skills:

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a practical approach to finding solutions.

• Strong communication skills to clearly explain complex concepts to farmers and stakeholders.

• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.

Certifications (Optional but Preferred):

• Certification in farm management or related areas.

• Sustainable agriculture or organic farming certification.

Other Skills:

• In-depth understanding of the local agricultural market and industry trends.

• Ability to conduct training and workshops for farmers and farm staff.
