Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Export/Import General Manager to oversee our international trade operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing export/import strategies, managing logistics, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Consultation of the clients regarding insurances, duties and taxes
• Monitoring of the shipments to ensure the compliance of regulations
• Search for possibilities to reduce taxes
• Maintenance of customer relations and participation in the organization's sales activities
• Assessment of new marketing and sales opportunities as well as presentation of those estimations to the respective managements
• Ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of imports and exports
• Develop and Implement Export/Import Strategies, analyze market trends, identify business opportunities, and develop strategies to increase export/import volumes and revenue.
• Manage Logistics and Supply Chain: Oversee the movement of goods, ensure timely delivery, and manage relationships with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other logistics providers.
• Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Stay up to date with changes in export/import regulations, ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and obtain necessary licenses and permits.
• Negotiate with Suppliers and Customers: Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and customers, negotiate prices, terms, and conditions, and resolve any disputes or issues that may arise.
• Manage Export/Import Documentation: Oversee the preparation and submission of export/import documentation, including commercial invoices, bills of lading, and certificates of origin.
• Analyze Market Trends and Competitor Activity: Monitor market trends, analyze competitor activity, and identify opportunities to increase market share and revenue.
• Develop and Manage Budgets: Prepare and manage budgets for export/import operations, including logistics, marketing, and staffing costs.
• Lead and Manage a Team: Supervise and motivate a team of export/import professionals, provide guidance and training, and evaluate performance
1. Education: Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in business administration, International Trade, Logistics, or a related field.
2. Experience: At least 5 years of experience in export/import operations, with a minimum of 2 years in a management role.
3. Knowledge: Strong knowledge of export/import regulations, logistics, medical equipment and supply chain management. Including Knowledge about budget management, international trade and taxations.
4. Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills. Ability to easily comprehend and organize shipment processes.
5. Language: Fluency in English, with proficiency in other languages an asset.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Certifications: Certified International Trade Professional (CITP) or Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) designation.
2. Experience with ERP Systems: Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, such as SAP or Oracle.
3. Knowledge of Incoterms: Strong knowledge of Incoterms and their application in international trade.
