Job Requirement

• Education: Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in economics, information and communications technology (ICT), science, technology and innovation (STI) or related field. A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. Successful completion of both degree and non-degree programs in data analytics, business analytics or data science programs is an advantage.

• Work Experience: A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in science, technology and innovation, information and communication technology, emerging technologies, frontiers technologies, digital transformation methodologies, economic research and analysis, policy formulation, application of economic principles in development programmes or related area is required. Experience of implementing result orientated work programmes built around coherent strategies in the ICT sector is required. Experience and application of emerging technologies such as AI, IoT or blockchain is required. Hands on experience in developing and implementing a digital transformation strategy to stakeholders at various levels is required. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in policy formulation and programmes in emerging technologies and/or digital applications in supporting socio-economic development is desirable. 2 years or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.

• Languages: Fluency in one of the working languages of the UN Secretariat, English or French, (both oral and written) is required, knowledge of the other is desirable. Knowledge of another UN official language is an advantage.
