Job Description
Holland Dairy is a leading dairy company in Ethiopia established in 2008. The company offers
pasteurized milk, butter, cheese and yoghurt varieties, ensuring customers with fresh dairy
products sourced from local farms. It has a strong market position in the Ethiopian dairy
market, particularly in yoghurt products, and is in the process of further strengthening this
market position by investing in the supply chain, production facilities, commerce department
and attempt to construct a thriving Ethiopian agricultural sector and most of our major suppliers
are smallholder farms.
Holland Dairy PLC is seeking an experienced and result driven warehouse Manager to oversee
the construction and operation of our new large warehouse located within our factory premises.
This role will be responsible for managing all warehouse functions, including cold storage for
finished products, spare parts, raw materials, ingredients, and general item warehouses at both
the factory and Addis Ababa locations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership
abilities and technical expertise in warehouse establishment, fresh dairy product storage, and
operational execution
Reports to: Deputy General Manager
Location: Factory Premises & Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
1. Warehouse Setup & Construction:
Oversee the design and construction of the new warehouse, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company requirements.
Work closely with contractors, engineers, and company stakeholders to ensure
timely completion of warehouse construction.
2. Warehouse Operations Management:
Lead and manage all warehouse functions, including cold storage, spare parts inventory, raw materials, and general warehouse items.
Supervise daily warehouse activities, including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, logistics, floor productivity, shipping, and
customer service.
Implement storage solutions for fresh dairy products using plastic crates and pallets.
Ensure that warehouse operations are efficient, well-organized, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
Create policies and procedures for warehouse activities and ensure all systems meet the standards for accreditation.
Prepare the annual Warehousing budget and forecasts.
3. Inventory Control:
Establish systems and processes for inventory control and tracking across all warehouse functions (finished goods, raw materials, spare parts, and general
items).
Monitor stock levels and coordinate with procurement and production teams to maintain optimal inventory.
Implement FIFO (First-In-First-Out) practices, especially for perishable products.
Collaborate with Distribution teams to ensure smooth inbound and outbound movement of goods.
Oversee warehouse layout and stacking solutions to maximize storage efficiency and reduce product handling time.
Develop and implement processes to ensure timely delivery of products to the Addis Ababa warehouse and other distribution points.
Implement and maintain effective cold storage practices for finished dairy products.
Ensure proper temperature controls and routine maintenance of cold rooms to preserve product quality.
4. Team Leadership & Development:
Build, lead, and mentor a skilled warehouse team responsible for day-to-day operations.
Set department objectives/KPIs and review and assess on-going performance of direct reports
Provide training on warehouse procedures, safety, and the use of equipment for all team members.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability within the warehouse team.
5. Compliance & Safety:
Ensure all warehouse operations comply with industry regulations, including safety, hygiene, and environmental standards.
Ensure a clean and tidy working environment to aid operational efficiency
Regularly inspect warehouse operations and equipment to
prevents accidents and maintain a safe working environment.
Manage warehouse documentation and records, ensuring all necessary reports are maintained accurately.
Perform other tasks assigned by immediate supervisor
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics and warehouse, Engineering, or related field.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in warehouse management, preferably in the Food or FMCG industry.
Proven improvement to operations experience in setting up and managing large-scale warehouse operations.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead, train, and motivate a diverse team.
Expertise in cold storage management and handling perishable goods.
Excellent knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP systems.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations in warehouse operations.

Good communication and presentation skills.
Technical knowledge of warehouse infrastructure setup and equipment (e.g.,forklifts, stacking).
